Bio
Ricardo Rivas is a dedicated coach with a strong background as both a player and developer of young talent. Originally from El Salvador, Ricardo moved to the United States in 2018 after earning a soccer scholarship to continue his playing career at the collegiate level. His experiences competing in elite youth, professional, and collegiate environments have shaped his approach to player development and mentorship.
Playing Career
FESA (2010–2013): Developed through one of El Salvador’s premier youth development programs, gaining a strong technical and tactical foundation. Alianza FC Academy (2013–2018): Progressed through the youth academy of one of El Salvador’s most successful clubs. Earned opportunities with the first team and spent one season competing at the senior level.
College Career
Arizona Christian University (2018–2023): Competed for five years at the NAIA level, helping the program win a conference championship while continuing to develop as a player and leader.
Coaching & Leadership Experience
Phoenix Rising FC – North Valley (2019–2025): Served as a coach for six years, working with players across multiple age groups and competitive levels. Focused on technical development, tactical understanding, and preparing players for higher-level competition. North Valley FC (2025–Present): Joins North Valley FC for the upcoming season, continuing his commitment to developing players and helping them reach their full potential.
Development Record
Throughout his coaching career, Ricardo has successfully developed players who have advanced into some of the top youth platforms in the country, including DPL, ECRL, ECNL, and MLS NEXT. His player-centered approach emphasizes long-term growth, technical excellence, and creating pathways for athletes to compete at the highest levels available to them.
